VO2 max testing: what it entails

Max Effort Testing

During the test, exercise intensity will increase incrementally until the point of fatigue. The tests normally last between 8-15 minutes. You will be breathing into a face mask that measures your inhaled oxygen. Testing can be done anywhere using our portable VO2 analyzer. 

What you get out of it

You will get measures of your VO2 max as well as Ventilatory thresholds. From this data, we will generate heart rate training zones based on your specific metabolic parameters. From here, we can create personalized training programs to suit your specific goals, whether that's improving metabolic health, improving performance outcomes, or weight management. 

How often to test VO2 max

This depends on your goals and your training program. The average person starting a training program should repeat testing every 8-12 weeks to track progress. Athletes training for a specific event should repeat testing every 6-8 weeks.
